U.S. Military Awards Picogrid $1.1M Contract to Speed up Battlefield Integration with Legion – sUAS Information

The U.S. Military has awarded Picogrid a $1.1 million contract to deploy Legion, a software program platform that connects siloed army programs.

Fashionable battlefields are evolving quickly. As famous by Military Chief of Workers GEN Randy George and Secretary of the Military Dan Driscoll of their Letter to the Pressure: “Autonomous programs have gotten extra deadly and cheaper. Sensors and decoys are in every single place. Twin-use applied sciences are repeatedly evolving and outpacing our processes to defeat them.”

To maintain tempo, the Military not too long ago launched the Military Transformation Initiative, a significant effort to overtake how the Military operates and push cutting-edge know-how straight into the fingers of troopers. The aim: quicker studying, faster adaptation, and field-ready options that meet shifting wants. Delivering that sort of agility requires programs that may quickly combine throughout a fragmented ecosystem of army programs.

Legion is constructed to resolve this problem. It hyperlinks knowledge from army programs previous and new—legacy programs, sensors, and weapons—and pushes it into operational instruments just like the Tactical Consciousness Equipment (TAK), the Military’s major coordination app, and different mission-critical software program. Legion turns fragmented knowledge into shared consciousness, enabling quicker selections and tighter coordination throughout items.

“Legion breaks down the partitions between programs that had been by no means meant to work collectively,” stated Martin Slosarik, co-founder of Picogrid. “We’re giving troopers entry to highly effective, modular software program that plugs into what they already use and extends its capabilities.”

The U.S. Military Engineer Analysis and Improvement Middle (ERDC) Building Engineering Analysis Laboratory (CERL) is the lead authorities associate on the venture, with Program Supervisor David Delaney overseeing the initiative. Legion has already been field-tested with U.S. Air Pressure and House Pressure items and employed in a number of large-scale Military workout routines. This contract will speed up its analysis and operational use throughout Military items.
